With over two decades of courtroom experience, Patrick J. Crowley is committed to administering justice, upholding constitutional protections, promoting public safety, and ensuring every individual is treated with fairness, dignity, and respect under the law. As Marquette County’s Chief Public Defender, he leads felony-level litigation, handling the most serious and high-profile criminal cases with unwavering commitment and integrity.

A proud Northern Michigan University alumnus, Patrick returned to Marquette, where he launched the Marquette County Public Defender’s Office after
extensive legal experience around the state, including beginning his career as a Prosecutor, and running a successful law firm, practicing criminal, family, civil, and landlord/tenant law.
​
Patrick’s dedication extends beyond the courtroom. He sits on the Board of Directors for Room at the Inn, a vital homeless shelter in Marquette. His community service also includes key committees for the State Bar of Michigan ensuring that lawyers follow the rules, communicate transparently, and that our laws are equipped for the 21st century. Patrick also serves as a youth football coach and as Vice President of Marquette County Youth Football. Patrick lives with his wife, Sacha, and is the proud father of two adult children. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, hunting, hiking, fishing, and exploring the natural beauty of the UP and all the vibrant community festivals, theater, and sporting events it has to offer.
